Prüvit’s KETO OS (ketone operating system) was based on ketone research commissioned by the department of defense and office of the Navy (USA) for Navy Seals as well as on-going research by NASA.
Dr. Dominic D’Agostino, PhD, assistant professor at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, is at the forefront of ketone research and is also responsible for developing the technology in exogenous ketone supplements.
The patented technology (US Patent Number: WO 2014153416 A1) was sub-licensed to Prüvit who then developed KETO OS.
RESEARCH FOR NAVY SEALS
Dr. D’Agostino’s research for the Navy Seals was focused on using ketones to reduce seizures related to oxygen toxicity experienced by Navy SEAL divers using closed-circuit breathing apparatus.
The initial research spawned further research and development in the use of elevating ketones as an energy source, to enhance physical performance, burn fat and increase mental performance.

RESEARCH BY NASA
NASA is currently conducting mission tests undersea, simulating life on Mars with the NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) 22 expedition.
One specific countermeasure being tested to induce and sustain nutritional ketosis with ketone supplement formulations.
The above USF-patented method will play a pivotal role in advancing the objectives of the NEEMO 22 mission. Dr. D’Agostino will be in a constant state of nutritional ketosis, which is proven to preserve the genome, protecting DNA. This is beneficial to NASA as it can countermeasure neurological risks that come with space travel such as space radiation, lack of oxygen and stress of small spaces.
